Welcome to Holistic Veterinary Care, Inc.

Holistic Veterinary Care is a practice based on holistic values and the homeopathic understanding of the significance of symptoms and the spectrum of health and disease.

I have been a practicing veterinarian in the Twin Cities since graduating from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. In 2002 I began my study of homeopathy with the Veterinary Homeopathy Course taught by Dr. Richard Pitcairn, co-author of the Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats. Over the next four years I studied at the Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy, from which I graduated in 2007.

This intensive study of homeopathy has greatly influenced my thinking and understanding of the nature of health and disease and the treatment of symptoms. In this paradigm, the body is a self-healing organism which is constantly and continuously in pursuit of homeostasis. Symptoms are neither good nor bad, but are a representation on every level (mental, emotional, and physical) of what the organism must do in order to regain and maintain functionality.

My job, when assessing my patient, is to figure out which systems require support, how best to support them, and how to direct the organism back to a place in which health can be restored and symptoms can be eased. And that’s what I do. I use homeopathic remedies, targeted nutritional supplements, Reiki energy therapy, cranio-sacral therapy, and western herbs to achieve this goal of healing or cure.
